IT Jobs in Abu Dhabi

The city of Abu Dhabi is the UAE’s capital and the second largest city.  There are nearly 1.5 million people living in the city with nearly 80% of them being expatriates.

Abu Dhabi is situated on a T-shaped island that juts out into the Persian Gulf off the central western coastline of the region.  Abu Dhabi’s financial prosperity has resulted from the gas and oil industries which are the driving force behind their economy.  In the past decade, the local government has attempted to diversify the economy and reduce the dependence on these aforementioned industries by implementing a number of new, more diverse economic projects.

As a result, a wide array of IT jobs in Abu Dhabi have become available from the government’s efforts at economic diversification.  If you are planning on applying for an IT job in this region, be aware that employers are searching for higher level qualifications as well as a substantial background and extensive experience in the IT career sector.  Be advised that your CV/resume and cover letter need to be constructed placing emphasis on your experience and all your relevant skills.

Suffice it to say, Abu Dhabi IT jobs are plentiful today due to the unprecedented growth of the city’s economy as well as the relocation of numerous big IT firms to the area.  It is also advantageous to the job seeker if they have had experience in other Middle East based employment or have local language abilities.  Additionally, Abu Dhabi IT jobs typically pay a higher salary than what you would experience with IT jobs elsewhere in the world.
